Indeed Shaykh al-Albaani studied knowledge abundantly and sufficiently, and he took the trade of mending watches for livelihood just as the Imams in the beginning used to do so. Indeed each one of them used to have a skill for his livelihood, for example Abu Hanifa was a cloth merchant.’

‘When I was in Damascus I used to visit al-Albaani in his house in ‘Safha, Mount Qassiyoon’. I would stay awake the night with him after Isha until the end of the night, and that was so I could look into his books and his library was a good size. Indeed Shaam has been deprived of the Shaykh Nasir al-Albaani, there is none present like him in Shaam, especially in his field of expertise.
